Eric B. (from "Eric B. and Rakim" and the show "Blue Bloods") stopped by the Lakehouse Music Academy's Block Party to talk a little about the North To Shore Festival. Eric B. and Rakim are performing at the Stone Pony on June 13, 2023, celebrating 50 years of hip-hop.
If you were at all awake in the late 1980s, then Paid in Full was well represented on the hip-hop mixtape you gave your friends. Perhaps better known as Mike Gee in the CBS show "Blue Bloods," anyone using samples in their music owes Eric B. a nod of respect as he pioneered the use of Soul music as samples.
North To Shore is a three-city, three-weekend festival celebrating all the talent, diversity, and creativity. Events will be taking place in Newark, Atlantic City, and Asbury Park.
