BASICS

YOUR MUSICAL PAST AND PRESENT IN ONE RUN-ON SENTENCE.

I’m 18 and I first played the Stone Pony when I was 10 years old and I’ve been inspired by various artists such as John Mayer and Gary Clark Jr. and I currently study at Berklee College of Music.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND TO SOMEONE WHO HASN’T YET HEARD YOUR MUSIC?

I would describe it as raw, soulful, and bluesy.

IF BANDS WERE REQUIRED TO HAVE A SLOGAN … WHAT WOULD YOUR BAND SLOGAN BE?

Keep on keeping on.

MUSIC

A PROJECT YOU’RE CURRENTLY WORKING ON THAT YOU’RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT.

My debut EP titled “Whereabouts”. It comes out Friday October 30th on all streaming platforms and I’m extremely excited about it since I’ve spent most of this year working on it.

HOW DOES THE BAND FLESH OUT A SONG FROM START (IDEA IN YOUR HEAD) TO FINISH (RECORDING)?

For me, it usually starts with a riff or a chord progression, followed by the melody and lyrics. But every now and then I get a “lightning in a bottle” moment where something great pops into my head and that eventually turns into a complete song.

WHAT DO YOU FEEL IS THE BEST SONG YOU EVER RELEASED, AND WHY?

I believe Elevate is the best song I’ve released not only because it’s the first song I’ve released, but because it holds so much meaning to me. It’s about overcoming the obstacles life throws at you and rising to the occasion.

PICK ONE WORD THAT BEST DESCRIBES WHAT YOUR REHEARSALS ARE LIKE. [YOU CAN ELABORATE IF YOU’D LIKE!]

Spontaneous. I had a group of incredible musicians that played on this EP and they were able to come up with parts on the fly and have fun with it.ANY MUSIC VIDEOS PLANNED OR IN PRODUCTION? I have a music video coming out November 3rd for “Elevate”.

LET’S GEEK OUT FOR A SECOND … TELL US WHAT YOUR ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PIECE OF MUSICAL EQUIPMENT IS RIGHT NOW.

It has to be my newly acquired JCM 900 head and cab. It’s easily the best amp I’ve ever played through. I haven’t been able to get a bad tone out of it.

INFLUENCES

WHICH ARTIST, BAND, OR LIFE EXPERIENCE INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A MUSICIAN?

The first two artists were Black Sabbath and Eddie Van Halen. I heard the iron man riff in the end credits of the first iron man movie and decided that I needed to learn how to do that.

AN ALBUM THAT’S HAD A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON YOU.

Layla and other assorted love songs.

VOCALIST YOU ADMIRE THE MOST?

Rod Stewart

GUITAR SOLO THAT ALWAYS GIVES YOU GOOSEBUMPS?

The Prophet - Gary Moore

MOST BAD-ASS BASSIST?

Thundercat

DRUMMER WITH KILLER CHOPS?

Mitch Mitchell

ROLLING STONES OR THE BEATLES?

The Beatles

PERFORMING

FUNNIEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED WHILE YOU WERE ON STAGE.

My friend smashed his bass on stage next to me and it didn’t break, so I just watched as he struggled to break his bass.

IF POSSIBLE, DESCRIBE WHAT PERFORMING LIVE FEELS LIKE FOR YOU.

It’s almost indescribable. Getting that nervous but excited feeling before you take the stage and then it all goes away once the first song begins. I really miss that feeling.

IF YOU WERE SECOND ON A THREE-BAND BILL, WHICH BAND WOULD YOU LOVE TO BE SUPPORTING AND WHICH BAND WOULD YOU CHOOSE TO OPEN FOR YOU? [GOOD CHANCE TO PLUG A NEWER BAND YOU REALLY LIKE]

I would love to open for John Mayer. I would also pick Thelonious Funk as the third supporting act.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE YOUR FANS GET FROM YOUR MUSIC? IS THERE ANYTHING YOU’D LIKE THEM TO KNOW?

I want them to feel like they can relate to it. It’s blues rock and everyone’s had the blues at some point in their life so I feel like this EP will resonate with a lot of people.
