YOUR MUSICAL PAST AND PRESENT IN ONE RUN-ON SENTENCE.

For myself, I played in a lot of bands in Brisbane, some of them were Dunes and The Bacchanales, with Bacchanales doing two Australian Tours.

SORRY, BUT WE HAVE TO ASK … WHERE DID YOUR BAND NAME COME FROM?

It’s from a Bright Eyes song called, Poison Oak

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND TO SOMEONE WHO HASN’T YET HEARD YOUR MUSIC?

Kings Of Leon meet The Killers, with a touch of the Cure.

IF BANDS WERE REQUIRED TO HAVE A SLOGAN … WHAT WOULD YOUR BAND SLOGAN BE?

Just put some reverb on it.

WHAT’S NEW IN YOUR LIFE AND WORK? DESCRIBE THE GREEN, GROWING, CREATIVE EDGE OF WHAT’S ABOUT TO BLOOM.

We are about to release our new single called, “Losing Ourselves”, and we’re releasing through the record company Epictronic, which we’re pretty excited about.

WHAT DO YOU FEEL IS THE BEST SONG YOU EVER RELEASED, AND WHY?

Our next single Losing Ourselves, which will be release on the 10th of September, will be our best release

PICK ONE WORD THAT BEST DESCRIBES WHAT YOUR REHEARSALS ARE LIKE. WHERE DO YOU REHEARSE?

Just a bunch of blokes trying to play some instruments.

WHICH ARTIST OR LIFE EXPERIENCE INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A MUSICIAN?

Just hanging out with my friends in Gympie really… Just talking trash and playing tunes.

AN ALBUM THAT’S HAD A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON YOU.

I’m Wide Awake It’s Morning – Bright Eyes.

DO YOU HAVE ANY PRE-SHOW RITUALS?

Sit and wait through sound check…. Haha so no not really.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE YOUR FANS GET FROM YOUR MUSIC? IS THERE ANYTHING YOU’D LIKE THEM TO KNOW?

I just hope they enjoy the music, that’s the main thing really and they relate to it.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST SURPRISE SO FAR ABOUT MAKING MUSIC YOUR CAREER, OR A BIG PART OF YOUR LIFE?

That I never learnt how powerful double tracking is, until recently…

WHAT CONCERT DID YOU ATTEND THAT YOU’LL NEVER, EVER FORGET?

The Black Keys, in Brisbane, they were pretty awesome.

WHAT’S YOUR BENCHMARK FOR A GREAT MUSICIAN?

…. This is a tough creatively and technically good, someone who has a wide taste of music. Mainly, someone who IS NOT FLAKEY and COMMITTED.
