Theory (AKA Theory of a Deadman) blasted the stage at Starland Ballroom recently to a packed house that pulsed openly with expansive fan celebration and undeniable love for this Los Angeles-based Canadian band.

Theory is hands-down one of the most unique and talented rock and roll groups on the scene today. Their music embraces a variety of styles including rock, alt-rock, country and grunge ... wrapped up in syncopated pop melodies that are catchy and very radio friendly. Their interaction with the crowd, sick technical musical chops and endearing personalities make Theory's live shows more enjoyable than most.
Since 1999, Tyler Connolly (vocals, piano, guitar), Dean Back (bass guitar), Dave Brenner (lead guitar), and Joey Dandeneau (drums) have pumped out seven stellar albums; their most recent being Say Nothing in 2020. Nine of their singles have entered the top ten of the US Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, including four songs that peaked at number one: "Bad Girlfriend", "Lowlife", "Rx (Medicate)" and "History of Violence."

Connolly happily assured the Starland audience that new music was actively being worked on and that their dedicated, supportive fanbase are what have kept them going all of these years. After hearing TOAD perform that evening, it was very apparent that they have a lot more music to share and I, personally, cannot wait to hear their next album!

After her first visit to Asbury Park, she immediately fell in love with its music community and recognized the need for a Jersey Shore publication to highlight the accomplishments of local and national musicians through photos and press. Asbury Park Vibes has been her labor of love ever since, along with her Golden Retriever – Cooper – who you’ll often see walking Diane through the streets of Asbury.
