FONTAINES D.C. LET LOOSE AT PACKED UNDERGROUND ARTS IN PHILLY

It was a night to celebrate, for Fontaines D.C., the post-punk band from Dublin County (D.C. get it?) Ireland. The five piece band consisting of Grian Chatten (vocals), Carlos O'Connell (guitar), Conor Curley (guitar), Conor Deegan III (bass), and Tom Coll (drums) released their ground-breaking album Skinty Fia; it was their first performance since their 2020 album.
Throughout the band's 13 song set list, lead singer Grian Cahtten was in vehement form, pounding his microphone stand onto the stage floor to the band's high velocity rhythm. His lyrics were easy to sing a long to yet filled with social criticism. Fontaines D.C. is a great band to listen to but you have to catch a live performance. You will not be disappointed.

My name is Steve Cerf and concert photography is my passion. I got into concert photography after seeing a young Freddy Mercury mesmerize his audience at the Philadelphia Civic Center back in 1977. Since then, I have photographed countless live performances of all kinds. Located in Philadelphia, my ability to experience the show and a performer’s essence and “sweat” is what I incorporate into my images.
