It was a show of epic proportions …

I PREVAIL touring on their new groundbreaking album TRUE POWER

PIERCE THE VEIL performing for the first time in FIVE years and hot off the release of new single “Pass The Nirvana” ...

✅ Up-and-coming powerhouse opening bands FIT FOR A KING and YOURS TRULY melting the stage as a warm up …

✅ And a SOLD-OUT CROWD of insanely energetic fans and crowd surfers who were there for the night of their lives …

PIERCE THE VEIL

The Stone Pony Summer Stage venue was packed to the gills as Pierce The Veil took the stage for the first time in five years in the direct support role for I Prevail. Lead singer Vic Fuentes admitted to feeling nervous at first but told the crowd that the minute he saw all of them, his nerves completely disappeared. As if never missing a step, the San Diego rock band pummeled the stage throughout their set with hardcore faves “Caraphernelia,” “Hell Above,” “Circles, and “King For A Day” to name a few. A definite highlight was the performance and live debut of their new single “Pass The Nirvana” which was just released on Sept 1st. Racking up over 3.5 million streams on Spotify alone proves that Pierce The Veil’s signature sound still resonates with fans.

In a recent interview with Loudwire, Fuentes explained, "'Pass the Nirvana' is about the many horrible traumas that the youth of America have endured over the past few years. COVID, no proms, no graduations, an insurrection, school shootings. The list goes on. Their lives have been tossed around like clothes in a dryer, as the tensions within our country have infiltrated our own homes, friends and families. To me, the song represents a euphoric detachment from all of that anxiety and stress and about finding some form of peace or nirvana."

Pierce The Veil’s set was punctuated by constant crowdsurfing fans wanting to get as close as possible, impressive lighting/fog effects, and the audience singing each song word-for-word. At one point, the fans took over singing “Hold On Till May” visibly touching Fuentes as he put his hand over his heart and tenderly mouthed the words “thank you.”

I PREVAIL

I Prevail commandeered the stage as only a Platinum-certified and twice Grammy-nominated rock powerhouse can do. Energized by the obvious initial success of their new album True Power, the post-hardcore band from Southfield, Michigan played the albums’ first four tracks, as well as the “0:00” intro, right out of the gate. As a matter of fact, the Asbury Park audience was treated to a record seven live debuts that night making this an extraordinary setlist and show for those lucky enough to have gotten a ticket. In addition to the new material, I Prevail made sure to pepper their set with all–time favorites such as “Gasoline,” “Scars,” “Hurricane,” and “Bow Down” throughout the evening.

Band members Brian Burkheiser, Steve Menoian, Eric Vanlerberghe, Dylan Bowman and Gabe Helguera have a huge, omnipresent stage presence built upon their unrelenting energy, incredible musical chops, and endearing fan interactions. The band’s lightshow and fog effects were striking and served to elevate the show to a bigger "blockbuster” level.

It was obvious that the intensity and strength of the band’s show was coming from their belief in the meaningfulness and relevance of their latest music. True Power has already had top five placements on the Top Hard Rock Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts. Five of their ten highest streaming singles are from the True Power album and although it was only released a month ago, their diehard fans were singing every single word during the performance.

In a recent Billboard interview guitarist/co-founder Steve Menoian said of their band’s evolving musical progression, “There are things we did on this record … that I wouldn’t have necessarily thought were cool when we started the band.Your taste needs to evolve as a writer and an artist and a musician. I think there’s a sweet spot we hit [while] making this record where we were able to dial in what felt like was cool to us and felt represented us well and is a good expression for us. You can’t really explain that to somebody, especially to your younger self, but for me, that’s the thing that moves the needle the most as an artist.”
