It may be towards the end of the summer but the Stone Pony summer stage is still kicking! While many of it’s offerings are on the rock side, It was refreshing to see some smooth and soulful pop music enter the conversation when pop artists Lauv and Hayley Kiyoko took to the summer stage. Both artists have secured a dedicated following throughout their careers and both delivered high-energy and compelling performances that resonated with their audiences.

Hayley Kiyoko opened up the show and made an instant connection with her vibrant stage presence and exuberance all while playing off her equally talented and skilled backing band and her message of positivity and inclusion was sincere and enjoyable. Despite the shortness of her set, Kiyoko more than made an impression with the audience and showcased why she’s a vital, dynamic and exhilarating talent to behold.

When it came time for Lauv’s headlining set, the audience was more than eager and thankfully his set more than met expectations. Lauv opted for an intimate yet emotional set that showcased both his recent material and fan favorites to equally effective measure. His stage presence and fan connection was truly exhilarating and his set design while minimalist for the evening still created a unique and immersive sense of atmosphere. Lauv’s musical and visual experience was utterly captivating and a strong representation of his soulful and optimistic appeal.

Overall both artists delivered engaging experiences that resulted in a well-rounded and satisfying experience. Be sure to follow both artists on social media and streaming platforms for more announcements and information regarding releases!
