“They’re All About Whiskey and Women!”

Lucero Rocks Asbury Lanes

Words & Photos by Michael Campanile

October 22, 2022

On a fall night full of punk shows in Asbury Park, Tennessee’s own Lucero brought their unique style to the Asbury Lanes. They gave their faithful fans a night of great music while the whiskey flowed freely. The band’s country-punk sound filled the venue as they featured a number of new songs from their upcoming album, Should’ve Learned by Now, including their latest single “One Last F.U.” Lucero mixed in a number of fan favorites as well and even a few requests. This was my first time seeing the band in person, and I look forward to their new album which drops in February.

Lucero was joined by L.A. Edwards and his band of brothers who started the night off with a solid opening set.

You can stream “One Last F.U.” on Spotify HERE!

Michael is an Asbury Park based photographer of what life puts in front of him. He snuck his camera into a concert for the first time in 2011 when he went to see Soundgarden on their reunion tour. Two of those shots ended up being published in Photofantasm Soundgarden: Nudedragons to King Animal, and he has been bringing his cameras to shows ever since. He relocated to Asbury in 2019 for its rich music and art scenes...and to save on tolls! He is a big supporter of the local music scene and has become well known amongst the bands for his photos. Michael is also a regular vendor at the Asbury Park Punk Rock Flea Market and can be found selling his prints at a variety of local markets.
