My Chemical Romance (also affectionately known as MCR) made a stop for their long-awaited tour at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The Emo titans sold out the 19,500-seat arena within hours back in late 2019 but was postponed twice due to the pandemic. The band split up after 12 years together in 2013 which devastated fans around the word. Now the Newark-based band returned for a triumphant reunion tour.

The concert was inundated by masses of teens to middle- aged adults with every costume & hair color imaginable. Fronted by lead singer\song writer Gerard Way, MCR powered through a 19-song set list, combining a mix of hits, fan faves, & deep cuts, including the newly released single, “The Foundations of Decay”, which opened the set.

My name is Steve Cerf and concert photography is my passion. I got into concert photography after seeing a young Freddy Mercury mesmerize his audience at the Philadelphia Civic Center back in 1977. Since then, I have photographed countless live performances of all kinds. Located in Philadelphia, my ability to experience the show and a performer’s essence and “sweat” is what I incorporate into my images.
