Promoting their newly released album, AM Gold, Train began the show with the self-entitled title track, throwing the crowd into a frenzy. The band’s 1999 sensation “Meet Virginia” followed. At this point Founder & front man, Pat Monahan, began hurling the self-titled T-shits into the audience with ONE lucky fan getting an autographed version signed by the entire band taken right off his body. Pat then strutted back and forth from one end of the stage to the other, singing their version of Steve Miller’s “The Joker” while taking dozens of selfies from $1,000+ cell phones thrown onto the stage by their beloved fans. One actually one clipped my shoulder, bounced onto the stage, picked up by Pat who then took a pic of himself then tossed it back. I couldn’t believe it! What a great show! Everyone, including an ever-smiling Monahan, had an incredible evening!

My name is Steve Cerf and concert photography is my passion. I got into concert photography after seeing a young Freddy Mercury mesmerize his audience at the Philadelphia Civic Center back in 1977. Since then, I have photographed countless live performances of all kinds. Located in Philadelphia, my ability to experience the show and a performer’s essence and “sweat” is what I incorporate into my images.
