LOW CUT CONNIE GETS THEIR FREAK ON
NORTH TO SHORE'S ATLANTIC CITY SHOWS WERE A SPECTACULAR START FOR THE FESTIVAL

Gut-punching music. Fierce, unbridled passion. Heart-pounding energy. All aptly describe their unparalleled live show … but the name Low Cut Connie is basically synonymous with it all. Adam Weiner and his Philadelphia-based rock and roll dynamo of a band commandeered the stage at the Anchor Rock Club recently as part of North To Shore Festival ‘s opening week in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The venue was jam-packed with adoring fans who were treated to an on-stage show filled with outstanding musicianship and dance-infused acrobatics that kept us on our toes always wondering what was coming next. Weiner owns the stage and his audience from start to finish, staying connected by regularly walking through the crowd hugging and giving handshakes to everyone in his path. Old-school, visceral rock and roll comes to mind inciting a passionate fanbase reminiscent of Jerry Lee lewis.

If my previous paragraphs haven’t yet convinced you to see Low Cut Connie perform when they come a town nearby, then take a listen to their latest single “Sleaze Me On,” a precursor to upcoming album Art Dealers which will be released on September 8 via Contender Records. Says Weiner, “This record is all kink and no shame. With Low Cut Connie, I try to create a safe space for you to just absolutely get your freak on.”
‘Nuff said.

North To Shore is currently in the midst of its second week in Asbury Park with many local and national acts that are sure to wow music lovers as well. For a full list of upcoming shows, visit www.northtoshore.com.

Born from an existential argument between Modernists and Postmodernists, I have found my home with the post-punks and those who love a good slice of pizza. I live in a world of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction and the ever-elusive Decisive Moment. Punctum and Studium aside, I like to take photographs of people and things to see how they look photographed. While I miss both CBGBs and a cool place to bowl, Punk is still whatever we made it to be. The Future is Unwritten, and I owe it all to Mr. Bradley and Mr. Martin. Let Us Now Praise Famous Men and ask the Little Prince for his thoughts. Sometimes I'm On the Road, but if it weren’t for the honor of the thing, I’d rather walk. My loving wife supports this albatross of an obsession, and my kids put up with me well. BA, MFA, M.Ed., BCEA, Tri-X, and Nikon.
