STP and Rival Sons Ready To Conquer The Pony - ASBURY PARK VIBES

New Jersey rock fans may never be the same after September 15th. Why … you ask?? Well, that’s the day co-headliners STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and RIVAL SONS are set to storm Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park. When two of the most successful rock bands (that thrive on the live performance dynamic) join forces, we rockers feel like the cosmos have shifted in our favor. Add to that combination, band-on-the-rise TYLER BRYANT & THE SHAKEDOWN … and this show has “EPIC” written all over it.

Asbury Park is one of only twelve cities that will get to partake in this preview of rock and roll heaven and we here at Asbury Park Vibes couldn’t be more pumped. Both STP and Rival Sons will play full sets, giving concert-goers the opportunity to experience a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Since 1989, San Diego natives - Stone Temple Pilots- have created hit after hit including “Plush,” “Interstate Love Song,” “Down,” “Wicked Garden,” and “Sex Type Thing,” to name just a few. Formally fronted by singers Scott Weiland and Chester Bennington (who have both tragically passed), the band currently consists of brothers Robert DeLeo (Bass, Backing Vocals) and Dean DeLeo (Guitar), as well as Eric Kretz (Percussion) and singer Jeff Gutt. Throughout their illustrious career, STP has sold over 70 million albums worldwide and are Grammy winners and nominees … several times over.

Just last year the band put out their seventh studio album and have hinted that a new, “beautifully different” one is currently in the works. In a recent interview with Loudwire, Gutt said, "There's no rules on it [the new album] having to be acoustic or anything; it just has a vibe to it. It's very instrumental. … it's beautiful. It's actually finished, and it has all new songs."

I believe I speak for all diehard STP fans when I say, “We absolutely cannot wait!”

Rival Sons is an American rock band - also hailing from California - who have been pumping out hard, bluesy, classic rock and roll since 2009. Known for their relentless touring schedule and charismatic live performances, this group is the perfect touring counterpart to STP. Rival Sons is Jay Buchanan (Vocals), Scott Holiday (Guitar), Michael Miley (Percussion), and Dave Beste (Bass) and the guys have been very open about how they feel about this upcoming tour. Says Holiday, “These guys [Stone Temple Pilots] wrote some of the soundtrack to my childhood…and it’ll be killer to watch and listen to ‘em hit these gems every night!”

I think it’s safe to say that concert-goers are equally excited about hearing the Rival Sons’ set as well!

If you are coming to this show which only has a few tickets left (Hurry! Before it’s too late!!) then you better make sure you’re there for openers Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown. After seeing them open recently for Black Stone Cherry right here at The Pony, I have to say that they are my new obsession. If you are craving pure, unfiltered rock with a Nashville influence and unparalleled energy ...then you’re in for a real treat! The band is comprised of Tyler Bryant (Vocals, Guitar), Caleb Crosby (Percussion), Graham Whitford (Guitar), and Noah Denney (Bass); and it’s my prediction that they will be headlining their own tour very soon.
