Kim Petras is well on her way, and she wants everyone to take notice. Her silky vocals swoon on her fresh, new single “Future Starts Now” ... “Ain’t nobody gonna stop me.” “Don’t you let the music stop now.”

The single’s sophisticated electropop beat and anthem-like chorus cements this rising star’s status as a popstar idol, a fact that’s reaffirmed by her recent signing with Republic Records. And luckily, New Jersey is on Petras’ path as she’s set to perform at Hard Rock’s Soundwaves in Atlantic City on October 8th and The Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park on October 9th!

The trans pop icon, who said she knew she wanted to be a songwriter at the tender age of 12, has been turning the heads of music industry professionals and fellow artists since she burst onto the scene in 2018. That was when she launched into Top 40 radio with her pop hit “Heart to Break.” Petras has earned major mainstream media acclaim from the likes of NY Times, NPR, Vanity Fair, People, Rolling Stone, MTV, Glamour, Elle, Variety, Allure, Billboard, Cosmopolitan, Paper, V Magazine, Noisey, OUT, Pitchfork, i-D, Refinery29, and more.

Kim Petras has also been featured on a number of impressive collabs, from Charli XCX ("Unlock It") to Kygo ("Broken Glass"), and Ariana Grande recruited her to do a track for the 2019 Charlie's Angels soundtrack. And more recently, she was featured on a remix of ElyOtto's TikTok-favorite single "SugarCrash!," as well as on a remix of Studio Killer's "Jenny."

We are excited to report that there are still some tickets left for Kim’s two New Jersey shows, and there is nothing better than closing out the Stone Pony Summer Stage season with a pop concert of this magnitude. Make sure to purchase your tickets now before it’s too late!

Diane DiMemmo is an avid concert fanatic and former musician who snuck cameras into venues for years before entering the pit as a professional photographer. After her first visit to Asbury Park, she immediately fell in love with its music community and recognized the need for a Jersey Shore publication to highlight the accomplishments of local and national musicians through photos and press. Asbury Park Vibes has been her labor of love ever since, along with her Golden Retriever – Cooper – who you’ll often see walking Diane through the streets of Asbury.
