Please read the information below from The Asbury Park Music Foundation for ways in which you can directly help shape and influence the Asbury Park Music Community.

Since the launch of APMF in 2011 with an exhibition of the city’s musical history in collaboration with the Smithsonian Institution, our goal to preserve the legacy of music in Asbury Park has remained an integral part of our mission. Today, our primary focus has expanded to providing music education opportunities to the musicians of today and tomorrow. Our individual donors are at the heart of our ability to reach our goals of supporting the current music scene, providing live shows for the community, and to offer music education programs to our under-resourced youth.

Donations, concerts, and special events generate significant funding for our youth music education classes, instrument programs, and scholarships. You can see the dollars at work in the public, private, and charter schools, in after-school programs, and at summer and recreational camps and through scholarships offered at Lakehouse Music Academy. This spring we are asking for your support to realize the growth we need to both maintain these programs and allow for expansion to serve our community’s current challenges.

The pandemic presented countless obstacles for APMF's programs these last couple of years. Fortunately, donors and sponsors like you made it possible for us to modify our plans and continue to provide the educational classes that so many local kids have come to count on.

We had to get more creative, installing small production studios in schools where programming for large groups became impossible. We kept live music going with Music Mondays in Springwood Park and AP Concert Band shows in the summer and Sundays on St. John's Island in the fall. Those shows helped musicians, production crews, and audio techs work when the majority of their gigs had been canceled or postponed. We also provided our community (visitors and residents alike) with safe options to get out and connect with one another while enjoying live shows again after being isolated for so long.

We are excited to start our second decade with a return to a full lineup of live summer shows and will continue to be a leader in the vibrant arts scene here in our city by the sea and serve as the premier non-profit music education organization in Asbury Park. There are multiple opportunities to show your support through a sponsorship and/or donation or even by hosting a social media fundraising campaign on our behalf.
