(NEW YORK, NY - MAY 25, 2022) On June 2, 2022  Roomful of Sky Records will present "Phil Robinson and Victor V. Gurbo - Live at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall," The performance, which will be each performer's first full-scale in-person concert since 2019, is completely sold out!

Says Robinson, "I still can't believe it! Victor and I would have considered selling out HALF the hall as an unqualified success, so this is like something out of a dream. To sum up in three words: Gratitude, gratitude, gratitude."

Adding to that sentiment Gurbo remarked, "I'm awestruck that the show has sold out. I haven't taken on anything of this magnitude since the pandemic hit, and I was concerned we'd have a difficult time moving tickets - I'm pleasantly surprised at how wrong I was."

This will be the musicians' first double-bill concert in a friendship and ongoing musical collaboration spanning over 11 years. With their respective players, Phil and Victor will perform spirited renditions of their original music throughout the night ... with a few well-chosen covers thrown in!

"I've been imagining this concert for three years," Robinson shared. "I'm looking forward to getting up on that stage and taking those hundreds of people with me on a wild ride through all corners of my music: fun, serious, ecstatic, mournful, meditative, grooving... and hopefully cathartic."

Equally exuberant, Victor added, "I am excited to debut new arrangements of our recorded and well-known material, as well as introduce some new songs that our fans have never heard before."

Armed with their folk, blues, and rock-influenced songs that straddle the line between timeless and modern, Robinson and Gurbo have entertained near-capacity crowds at many of New York's prominent music venues, including: Mercury Lounge, The Bitter End, and The Loft at City Winery.

"I think people like seeing Victor and I together partly because our friendship shines through just as much as the music. We'll continue to team up for these large-scale concerts however our very next project is also a first for us." Robinson is referring to his upcoming release of a new performance video, of which Gurbo collaborates.  It will be a heartfelt rendition of Bob Dylan's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door," to raise funds that will assist refugees of the crisis in the Ukraine.

Using their music to fuel charitable causes is not a new venture for the pair. In the early days of the pandemic, they both lent their musical talents to various causes, including #SaveOurStages and racial justice, and notably spearheaded an online campaign to "Save the Bitter End!", which successfully raised over $24,000.00, ensuring that the legendary New York City music venue could remain afloat amid the pandemic-induced lockdowns.

Of the upcoming new video, Gurbo states, "I am looking forward to the release of Phils' Dylan cover. In addition to being for a good cause, recording the song and video was a wonderful opportunity to experiment creatively in ways I don't normally."

Although the Carnegie Hall show is sold out, make sure to catch Phil Robinson and Victor V. Gurbo at future events so you too, can experience their exceptional music!
