Review by Nick Manduley

Angela Branchek of the Honey Wild Band recently shared her new single “Butterflies” from her brand new solo project, Mixolydian Dreamer. The instrumental ballad featuring musician Michael Greulich was independently released on August 6th.

Butterflies” starts gently with emotive piano chord progressions, before filling out with a grooving drum beat and soaring strings. The tune vamps with electric guitar, before going into a delectable solo and jamming over the mid-tempo track. As it winds towards its end, the drums explode into a cascade of soloing before finally ending with some melodic guitar riffage. Branchek’s use of major keys on this track effectively makes “Butterflies” take flight.

Butterflies” is now streaming on all major streaming platforms.
